Toyobo has developed "garment pressure simulation technology" which calculates the pressure (garment pressure) on the human body during wear, using results from fiber tensile-strength testing. With this technology, the garment pressure can be predicted and calculated only from fabric conditions without having the form of sewn products, and pressure distribution can be calculated in detail. For designed value of pressure, the selection of the best-suited fabric and pattern is possible without having the form of sewn products. This technology eliminates the repeated process of sewing, which has been necessary for garment development, shortening the development period. Toyobo is planning to use this technology for developing products like sportswear and inner wear as well as to carry out take tests under contract for garment pressure.
