ITMA2007 (Munich) in September next year,
distributors from various areas including interiors anticipate more digital printing machines to be exhibited.

ITMA 2007 will be held in Munich, Germany from September 13 to 20 next year. Many digital printing machines (ink-jet printing machines) were exhibited at the previous ITMA 2003 (Birmingham), but mainly for textiles, apparel and flag printing while ink-jet printing machines for interior goods were introduced on a trial basis. Digital printing distributors in the world are anticipating more digital printing machines for new applications to be exhibited next ITMA 2007.

Ink-jet printing increases in Kyoto,
conventional way of printing decreases conspicuously.

An increasing number of manufacturers are using CAD and ink-jet printing machines for designing "kimono,"the traditional garment of Japan. The object material is silk.

It is significant that many firms which had carried out rotary screen printing and auto flat bed screen printing with conventional methods have changed their trade in Japan because of order decreases, reflecting this trend.

Kakuhashi Senkou of Kyoto will stop knit printing soon and Suzuroku Dyeing of Hamamatsu will stop cotton finishing with conventional printing methods, and both companies will change their trades.

Seiren exhibits “Sericin” as enzyme stabilization agent for diagnostic products at AACC held in July in U.S.

Seiren (H.O.: Minato-ku, Tokyo and Fukui-shi) will exhibit a silk protein called "Sericin" as an enzyme stabilization agent for diagnostic products at AACC (American Association for Clinical Chemistry) to be held in Chicago, the U.S. from July 25 to 27. Seiren have been proceeding with research on enzyme stabilization effectiveness of the silk protein "Sericin" in its application study of medical-related areas and exhibited "Sericin" at "MEDICA" held in Dusseldorf on November 16 last year from which they got a great response, after confirming that "Sericin" has the same or more effectiveness than that of "BSA" (Bovine Serum Albumin), a bovine-derived enzyme stabilization agent which is dominant at the moment. Exhibiting at AACC is following this movement.
